In separate incidents, four children drowned in Sadar and Sreepur upazilas of Magura on Monday.

Akayeed, 2, son of Enamul Haque of village Gangnia of Sadar upazila, drowned in a pond near their house in the afternoon, said additional superintendent of police Tariqul Islam.

Waz Kuruni, 5, son of Atar Ali of village Kukila of the upazila, fell into a pond and drowned, he said.

Four-year-old boy Nasim Sheikh, son of Halim Sheikh of village Sachilapur of Sreepur upazila, died when he fell into a pond near their house.

In another incident in the upazila, Taslima, 2, daughter of Sohag Mollah of village Mangondanga, fell into a canal and drowned there.

Unnatural deaths cases were lodged over the drowning incidents.
